Over the last three weeks the state is averaging 180 hospitalizations a day.
The state also recorded a 21-day high for daily cases and ICU admissions Tuesday.
ODH reported 53 ICU admissions, nearly doubling the previous 21-day high of 29 recorded on Nov. 2. The state is averaging 18 ICU admissions in the last three weeks.
Ohio reported 5,639 daily cases, making it the third time cases have exceeded 5,000 in seven days. The state’s 21-day average is 4,099 cases a day and its seven-day average is 4,826 cases a day.
After weeks of a declining number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized in the state, the number of COVID inpatients are beginning to increase again.
As of Tuesday, 2,745 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized in Ohio, including 791 in ICUs and 485 on ventilators, according to ODH. Two weeks ago, on Nov. 3, Ohio reported 2,337 hospitalized patients, 674 in ICUs and 433 on ventilators.
Coronavirus patients accounted for 10.5% of hospital beds, 17.01% of ICU beds and 10.18% of ventilators in Ohio on Tuesday. The state has 5,151 (19.7%) hospital beds, 954 (20.52%) ICU beds and 3,033 (63.66%) ventilators available.
Ohio reported 170 COVID-19 deaths Tuesday, bringing the state’s total to 25,813, according to ODH. The state updates death data twice a week. The data can fluctuate because other states don’t regularly report death certificate data to Ohio’s Bureau of Vital Statistics. The day a death is reported does not reflect the day it occurred.
More than 6.61 million Ohioans have started the COVID-19 vaccine, including 70,949 kids ages 5 to 11.
Nearly 56.6% of residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine, including 67.53% of adults and 60.15% of those 5 and older.
Almost 52.25% of Ohioans have completed the vaccine, including 63.12% of adults and 55.52% of those 5 and older.
